Over the weekend, Terror Squad’s Remy Ma poured gasoline on the “Remy - Nicki” fire with the release of “shETHER”—a near seven-minute lethal diss track over Jay Z’s infamous “Ether”. Remy makes it clear that she’s not playing games by going for the Young Money MC’s jugular with a firestorm of deep-cutting insults. This is the beef that the game’s been missing. In the wake of 2017’s feminism marches, it’s fitting that Hip Hop’s most legitimate feud in recent memory comes at the hands of two female rappers. I can’t take the Drake - Meek beef seriously…

The dispute dates back to 2007 through Minaj’s subliminal diss in her “Dirty Money” freestyle off the Playtime Is Over mixtape with the shot, “Tell that bitch with the crown to run it like Chris Brown" over a beat from Terror Squad's "Yeah Yeah Yeah.” Nicki denied rumors about this jab, but the industry’s inference begs to differ. After Remy Ma got incarcerated from 2008-2014, Nicki’s career skyrocketed and the beef’s dust seemed to settle. However, Remy rekindled the quarrel by mocking Nicki’s “Monster” flow during a cypher in effort to restart her career after her six-year absence. Minaj clapped back with her early 2017 features on Gucci’s “Make Love” and Jason Derulo’s “Swalla.” But Remy elevated this petty beef into Grade A USDA meat with “shETHER,” swinging the pendulum of momentum strongly in her favor.

At just shy of seven-minutes, “shETHER” is engorged with ruthless bars that would submit even the thickest of skins. Let’s take a look at the track’s top-10 parts following the song’s progression.
